Citing the ʿAbbasid caliph al-Mustansir billah (AH 623-640 / AD 1226-1242). Within a circle, ‘al-Imām / al-Manṣūr Abū / Jaʿfar al-Mustanṣir / billāh amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘Imam al-Mansur Abu Jaʿfar al-Mustansir billah, Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘bism Allāh al-raḥmān al-raḥīm ḍuriba hādhā al-dīnār bi al-Qāhira sana sabʿ wa ʿishrīn wa sitta miʾa’ (‘In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful. This dinar was struck in al-Qahira in the year 627’ in Arabic). Rev.
